We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, professional disciplines and experiences. We are looking for cadets interested in developing across a range of areas, including:
* Local: All great stories start at the grassroots. We are developing new ways of creating and sharing community journalism and building on the connections of our unrivalled network of local news brands.
* Regional: The stories don’t stop at the edge of the major cities. Regional audiences are growing, their needs are unique and their communities more passionate than ever. Their stories need to be told.
* National: Our coverage and commitment to national affairs and issues is unsurpassed. From federal politics to national policy issues and national debates there are always stories to be told and debates to be shared.
* Specialists: From the weather, to medical science, small business and the understanding of cryptocurrency; genuine subject matter expertise has never been more valuable. We welcome applications from people with deep interests and expertise.
* Video, audio and rich media: Stories are no longer confined to one format or traditional rules of how they should be told. We need skills and innovation that embrace sound, movement, music and graphics to build on the power of our written words.
