Harman Baweja had one of those launches in the Hindi film industry that is only reserved for kids with famous parents. His first film, Love Story 2050, had him starring alongside Priyanka Chopra and gossip mills at the time couldn’t get enough of their rumoured romance. Fifteen years later, Harman is making a comeback with Hansal Mehta’s web series Scoop and in a recent interaction, the actor said that dealing with “tabloid media” is “part and parcel” of being in the entertainment industry.
The actor told ETimes, “They are not really interested in if you have done a film or bagged another film or worked hard on a film set and got injured. They see you outside a restaurant and three minutes later another girl walks out of the same restaurant and apparently the tabloids think you are having lunch with that girl, while in reality that is not probably true.”
After appearing in Love Story 2050, where his looks and dance moves were constantly compared to Hrithik Roshan, who was a superstar at the time, Harman Baweja appeared in films like Victory and What’s Your Raashee. The actor continued, “The scoops were fun when they were sweet but it was bitter when they weren’t. But it’s a part and parcel of the line you can’t really complain.”
Harman is the son of popular film producer Harry Baweja and his last release was Anees Bazmee’s It’s My Life, which aired on Zee Cinema years after it went into production.
Also starring Karishma Tanna, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Deven Bhojani and Tannishtha Chatterjee, Scoop will premiere on Netflix on June 2.
