1. Shivam Mavi (Gujarat Titans)
The defending champions traded their ace-pacer Lockie Ferguson ahead of the upcoming auction. With Nehra revealing that GT requires a pacer, Shivam Mavi might be a prime contender to fit in GT’s camp. Mavi has been on and off in the IPL so far, but his brute speed might help the defending champions to scalp some wickets in the middle-overs.
2. Cameron Green (Delhi Capitals)
Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting recently hinted that the Capitals franchise have saved a large chunk of money to bid for Cameron Green. Green made a name for himself in the shortest format. He opened for Australia against India and smashed 61 off 30 balls in Mohali. He repeated that feat with 52 of 21 in Hyderabad to attract IPL franchises’ attention. With Rs 19.45 Cr in the purse, DC will go all in for Green.
3. Sam Curran (CSK)
CSK would love to have their talismanic all-rounder Sam Curran back in the team. With 20.45 remaining, The Yellow army can go all the way and try to get the T20 World Cup hero back. In IPL 2022, the MS Dhoni-led side failed to pick regular wickets in the power play and death overs. Curran can solve that problem and also chip in with vital contributions with the bat in hand. The left-arm pacer’s economy rate of 6.45 is his big USP.
4. Ben Stokes (SRH)
With the highest purse remaining among franchises, SRH are expected to bid for England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes. The Hyderabad-based franchise might also be tempted to hand over the leadership role to Stokes in the upcoming edition. SRH need a captain and a seam-bowling all-rounder who can win them matches. Stokes is the ideal player who fit in all three roles. Stokes can take the responsibility in the middle order. He can also team up with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl in the death overs.
5. Narayan Jagadeesan (KKR)
The two-time IPL champions released a total of 16 players ahead of the next season, which includes both Jackson and Indrajith. But with purse constraints and a lot of spots to fill, KKR can go for some domestic stars. KKR will target Jagadeesan who had a superb season in the recently conducted Vijay Hazare Trophy. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 830 runs in 8 matches at an average of 138.33. He finished as the highest run-getter.
6. Mayank Agarwal (LSG)
The Super Giants did not have a solid number three during their fourth finish in IPL 2022 season. They tried as many as six players at three, but none could get going. Mayank Agrawal can be their best bet in the IPL mini-auction. He can bat aggressively, as well as drop anchor when either of the openers KL Rahul or Quinton de Kock fails at the top. Agarwal had a dismal season in IPL 2022 with PBKS, and the veteran will be keen to prove a point.
7. Jason Holder (MI)
The biggest news from MI is they let go of Keiron Pollard. Jason Holder is up for grabs, and MI can look to add the all-rounder among the mix. With Bumrah, and Archer set to open the bowling, MI needs a middle-order enforcer, someone who can pick regular wickets. Holder provides that option and is also pretty handy with the bat in hand.
8.Manish Pandey (Rajasthan Royals)
Ahead of IPL 2023 auction, Rajasthan Royals released the likes of Rassie van der Dussen and Daryl Mitchell. With a power-packed batting line-up including Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson, RR might require a top-order who canreplacement play an anchor role. Pandey has a lot of experience in IPL and he can be an ideal Number 3 batter for the Jaipur-based franchise.
9. Vasuki Koushik (RCB)
Karnataka’s pacer Vasuki Koushik finished as the joint-leading wicket-taker in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy. The speedster grabbed 18 wickets in just nine games with his side bowing out of the competition in the semi-finals. RCB who will be searching for a genuine pacer in the upcoming IPL auction, will want to bag Koushik.
10. Nicholas Pooran (PBKS)
The PBKS franchise named Shikhar Dhawan as their new skipper for the upcoming IPL edition. With the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Pooran can add more firepower to PBKS batting line-up. The Punjab franchise have a decent amount left in their bank and they will certainly want to bid for the former West Indies skipper in the auction.
