This is going to be the first of two matches Punjab play in Dharamsala this season, and they are still in with a decent chance of making the top four.
Prabhsimran Singh and Harpreet Brar were their heroes a few nights back against the same opposition, and Punjab will bank on them again to have a good game. The only tactical change they can consider is bringing back Bhanuka Rajapaksa for Sikandar Raza, for their top-order batting resources looked quite thin in the last game with Sam Curran coming in to bat inside the Powerplay.
Delhi, now officially out of contention for the playoffs, will be looking forward to the next season. In the interim period, they may consider giving game time to players who have not had much of a role to play so far this season.
Prithvi Shaw, Yash Dhull, and Priyam Garg – the India Under-19 captains – can all return to the side, as can Abhishek Porel. Lungi Ngidi and Mustafizur Rahman have combined to play just one game this season, and may get a look in as well. Vicky Ostwal, the left-arm spinner who was part of India’s Under-19 World Cup winning squad in 2022, may also get his IPL cap.
SRH v RCB – 7:30 pm IST
LSG v MI – Lucknow Super Giants won by five runs
PBKS XI: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Prabhsimran Singh, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Sam Curran, Shahrukh Khan, Harpreet Brar, Rahul Chahar, Nathan Ellis, Arshdeep Singh.
DC XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner (c), Mitchell Marsh, Yash Dhull, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Aman Khan, Abhishek Porel (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Lungi Ngidi, Ishant Sharma.
Punjab hold the wood over Delhi as they defeated them just a couple of nights back at their home ground. The manner of the defeat must have been demoralising as well for the Delhi camp. Coming into this match at their adopted home ground in Dharamshala and with a very real possibility of making the playoffs, Punjab will definitely start as favourites.
