At the age of 54, prominent Indian businessman Cyrus Mistry passes away.

Cyrus Mistry was died in a collision on Sunday after his automobile struck a road divider in western India.

According to police, the collision happened on a river bridge in the Palghar region of the Maharashtra state. 

Mistry headed Tata Sons for five years till the board decided to fire him in October 2016.

Politicians and business executives were shocked to learn about Mistry's passing.

Mistry, according to PM Narendra Modi, is a potential businessman who has faith in India's ability to prosper economically.

Through his business, Cyrus Investments Pvt. Ltd., Mistry acquired an 18.4% stake in Tata Sons.

His wife and two sons are left behind.
